Check out The Last Dom's blog; this is exactly how I feel about celebrating Independence Day. Don't get it twisted, I appreciate my Blessings and the accomplishments of those Blacks, browns, women and whites that fought and continue to fight for civil rights. But why should I celebrate Independence Day when I ain't really free from nothing?
Again, don't get it twisted, I am free to do many things but I ain't really free.
Black folks need to wake up and stop tripping. I repeat, Dr. Cosby was correct. Black people, stop ignoring the elephant in the room and do something about it.
