Barack Obama's win in Iowa is a clue to the changing attitudes of Americans. I never thought I'd live to see a black man as a serious contender for the highest office in the United States but it's happening and I'm blessed to be a witness.
Sure, Iowa is only one state but it's a serious statement. Further analysis of the demographics of voters and Obama clearly wins because of young people. In spite of the rise in reports of racial incidents, the youth, again, get it right.
Thank you, young people. Obama won with women also. Hmmm. So what happens next? That remains to be seen but Barack Obama has clearly made history. What does that say about the power of the Double O's? Obama and Oprah.
Anyhoo, as I write this, John Edwards is in second place and Hillary Clinton a close third place. As well as she spoke, the Clinton camp can't be a happy place this evening. Many political pundits predicted her to take Iowa on her way to the Democratic nomination but take a look at this video.
One thing is certain, this presidential campaign has garnered more excitement than I've seen in quite some time. Let's get this excited regardless of whether it is the presidential election or a local election. The Iowa Caucus is an example of 'Power to the People' in action. It's time for a change.
