My schedule is tight today but I MUST get this off my chest and out of my brain….
As you may know by now, BET founder, Bob Johnson went plumb crazy and dissed Barack Obama. It wasn't just a regular diss; he insinuated that Barack Obama was a druggie, said he was insulted that Obama compared himself to Martin Luther King and even threw in a slam using Sidney Poitier in Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.
After the furor that erupted over Johnson's comments, he 'apologized' for his statements. You call that an apology?
What I'd like to know is when is Bob Johnson going to apologize to Black America for the programming at BET? Based on the comment below, it will never happen.
Here's Johnson's quote from USA Today, April 12, 2006:
…Johnson, who goes by Bob, says he never started BET to be anything more than a money-making entertainment channel. "I never really embraced that notion that BET was an heirloom that belonged to the greater black society," Johnson says. "BET was a business that had a great impact on African-American society, but it didn't belong to it. And so, my thing is that we want to contribute, we want to add value. But we have to operate according to the philosophy that you have to exist in a world where business decisions have to be made based on business, not on political notions or social agendas."
So there, black people. Those statements are par for the course for a 'Democrat' identified as a Bush/GOP operative. Having Bob Johnson as a supporter along with Johnson's known ties to Bush are enough reasons for me to support anybody but Hillary.
