There’s no crying in politics!

How gullible are American voters? That did not seem like genuine emotion but rather a sympathy move. This question came at the end of the roundtable session; what convenient timing. If this bit seems to garner votes for Clinton, I imagine we'd better prepare for her to cry a river.

As a woman, I'm ticked that she cried. Like it or not, a woman leader can't show that kind of emotion. You can show someone that you're sympathetic by handing someone a tissue but you can't be the one that needs a tissue. Women leaders, especially in a male-dominated environment, know that you wait until you're alone before you cry. Go to the ladies room…go in your office and close the door…whatever, just never let'em see you sweat. Yeah, yeah, it's a double standard and male candidates have cried but that's just the way it is.

There's no crying in business and politics is a business.

12 year-old boy kills 17 month-old cousin

By now you may have heard about the twelve year-old boy in Lauderhil, Florida who bludgeoned his 17 month-old cousin to death with a baseball bat. The boy lied to authorities initially but later confessed. He said she wouldn't stop crying and he couldn't hear his cartoons on television.

What happens next is up to the Broward County judicial system. Will he be tried as a juvenile or an adult as was Lionel Tate who murdered his six year-old playmate Tiffany Eunick in 1998? What makes children kill in such a violent manner? Were there signs of his of possible violence prior to this incident?

Sadly there are several other stories of children that kill. Here's a little of what's on Google.

Shirley Chisholm was a trailblazer for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton

"I want history to remember me not just as the first black woman to be elected to Congress, not as the first black woman to have made a bid for the presidency of the United States, but as a black woman who lived in the 20th century and dared to be herself."

Shirley Chisolm (11/30/1924 - 01/01/2005)

While the world is mesmerized by the success of the presidential campaign of Barack Obama and applauds Hillary Clinton as the first woman with , it is the pioneering Ms. Chisholm who must not be forgotten in the history of this country.

Ms. Chisholm's announcement of her candidacy is remarkably similar to the philosophy espoused by Barack Obama and quickly hijacked by other candidates after his Iowa win. It's a shame that we're still dealing with many of the same issues almost forty years later but it is what it is.

It’s time for Britney-free news. Pray for her and leave her alone.

It's time to pray for Britney Spears. That's not a joke; I really mean that. Whatever lead to her being strapped to a gurney and wheeled from her home cannot be pretty.

I am not a Britney Spears fan but this is another train wrecked life of a celebrity that manages to monopolize the media. You know what? I'm really sick of the media broadcasting it…printing it…talking about it.

This child; yes, she's a child to me, was idolized by the media then criticized by the media. It's the old build 'em up and tear'em down syndrome. Sure, she's made millions through her celebrity but in the end what does that mean other than better seats at a restaurant? This child is a mother now; she's lost her kids and she's in pain. I don't want to watch this.

Yeah, she was panty less, shaved her head, has been partying and gave that uncharacteristically horrible performance but enough is enough already. Brit's lawyers have quit on her, she's been late for court and not following the judge's orders. That's not a cry for help, it's a downright scream.

Only Britney can really save Britney at this point. Has she hit bottom? What does she want to do with her life? Why is she non-compliant with the judge's orders? I think she just doesn't know how to cope as an adult. It's a sad situation. I don't care to know any details about Britney's latest derailment. I'd prefer the real news about what's happening in America and throughout the world.

Britney's breakdown was reported during CNN news and now she's the topic on Larry King. I'm changing the channel. Let's leave Britney alone and pray that she comes to her senses so she can save herself.

Obama wins big in Iowa!

Barack Obama's win in Iowa is a clue to the changing attitudes of Americans. I never thought I'd live to see a black man as a serious contender for the highest office in the United States but it's happening and I'm blessed to be a witness.

Sure, Iowa is only one state but it's a serious statement. Further analysis of the demographics of voters and Obama clearly wins because of young people. In spite of the rise in reports of racial incidents, the youth, again, get it right.

Thank you, young people. Obama won with women also. Hmmm. So what happens next? That remains to be seen but Barack Obama has clearly made history. What does that say about the power of the Double O's? Obama and Oprah.

Anyhoo, as I write this, John Edwards is in second place and Hillary Clinton a close third place. As well as she spoke, the Clinton camp can't be a happy place this evening. Many political pundits predicted her to take Iowa on her way to the Democratic nomination but take a look at this video.

One thing is certain, this presidential campaign has garnered more excitement than I've seen in quite some time. Let's get this excited regardless of whether it is the presidential election or a local election. The Iowa Caucus is an example of 'Power to the People' in action. It's time for a change.
