Clinton Surrogates Continue the Fight by Lying and Spinning the Truth
Wednesday, May 07, 2008
It's time for DNC Chair Howard Dean to rein in Hillary Clinton and her surrogates. They continue to lie, spin the truth and widen the chasm between rank and file Democratic Party members. Try as the leaders might to talk of Party unity, it ain't gonna happen in November and here's why.
The Hillary Clinton camp can't shake the label of divisive, mean-spirited liars. Ever since the orchestrated question during a town hall forum, to the Bosnia sniper fire and questions of inflated campaign contributions it's difficult to believe anything from Clinton and her surrogates. The strategy to accuse Barack Obama of silencing the voices of voters in Florida and Michigan is particularly disingenuous. These folks will obviously stop at nothing. Is that the legacy the Clintons want to leave with this country?
Keep these facts in mind as the Clinton surrogates keep spin going:
- Florida and Michigan knew the penalty when their elections were held in violation of the DNC.
- Senator Obama's name wasn't on the ballot in Michigan and HRC still didn't win the majority of the votes.
- Initially, Hillary Clinton didn't want Michigan votes to count either.
- The proposed Florida re-vote process (mail-in voting) was extremely vulnerable to election fraud.
- If the Clinton folks could have funded the regular voting process in Florida, there would have been no problem for Florida to re-vote. A mail-in election? In Florida? You get the picture.
It's the Clinton campaign tactics and their propensity to lie that still won't allow me to vote for her in November. It also causes me to question representation of the politicians that do support her.
In the meantime, if Howard Dean doesn't get the Democrats under control, his legacy will include the implosion of the Democrat Party on his watch.
