Obama Leading Among Committed Superdelegates
Sunday, May 11, 2008
Here are the superdelegates totals as taken from Politico.com.
TOTALS | |
Unnamed Add-on Delegates | 49 |
Clinton Superdelegates | 268.5 |
Obama Superdelegates | 271 |
Uncommitted Superdelegates | 207.5 |
TOTAL SUPERDELEGATES | 796 |
Senator Obama is now leading Senator Clinton. It is expected that more superdelegates will commit to Obama essentially shutting down Clinton's chance at the presidential nomination.
Twenty-eight pledged delegates are at stake in Tuesday's West Virginia Primary. Senator Clinton is already predicted the winner in that primary by virtue of the state's demographics.
Clinton needs about 70% of all of the votes in the remaining races and the uncommitted superdelegates to win the Democratic nomination. It's that hope against hope and reasonableness that's keeping her in the race.
