The campaign team of Senator Barack Obama continues to defy logic by shattering fundraising records. Obama raised $66M in August, surpassing the $55M raised in February. The campaign also increased the number of donors to 2.5M.
The presidential race is still predicted to be close although Obama still draws huge crowds and his fundraising numbers continue to dwarf McCain's.
I'm still in awe at the number of people who even support McCain. I mean, really. The guy is clearly for the wealthy with his tax cut proposals that will actually hurt most Americans. And Sarah Palin's position on choice regardless of rape, etc. that's just foolishness.
The GOP spin on Party unity and the appeal of Sarah Palin is wearing off. The story of that Anti-Palin rally got legs and it is all over the internet. Not to mention the little talked about convention in Minnesota that Ron Paul had with 10,000 people. Paul continues to be a thorn in the side of the Republican Party and they continue to try to ignore him. Just because it's not reported doesn't mean it's not true.
I am looking forward to these last few weeks of the presidential campaign. It would be great if the American public focused more on the issues rather than the likeability of the candidate because this race really shouldn't as close as has been reported.
