McCollum Will Not Seek FL U.S. Senate Seat

AGMcCollum The race to fill the Florida U.S. Senate seat currently held by Mel Martinez is more interesting as the most promising Republican thought to be able to win has declared he will not seek the seat. Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, like Florida CFO Alex Sink and U.S. Rep. Allen Boyd, will seek re-election to his current seat.

That leaves the door open for very few potential Republican candidates with name recognition. Among the Republicans still rumored to run are U.S. Rep. Connie Mack and former House speakers Marco Rubio and Allen Bense.
