Sarah Palin Pardons a Turkey but That Doesn’t Save Turkey Slaughtered On Camera [Video]

Sarah…Sarah…Sarah. Pull up already, please. It is so difficult to put words on this page when describing the latest fiasco of obvious 2012 presidential wannabe Sarah Palin. She has been in major media overload since the McCain-Palin ticket lost the general election and someone needs to tell her to chill out...pull up...enough alaready.

This latest fiasco is video of her giving an interview while a turkey is slaughtered in the background. Keep in mind that the purpose of the interview was to highlight her pardoning a turkey. WARNING: Video may not be suitable for children or the squeamish.

Was that a Twilight Zone moment or what? Perhaps such cruelty doesn't cause one blink of an eye in Alaska, but it doesn't play well in Peoria...or anywhere else. To most folks, it is disgusting…horrific…gross…you get my drift.

I've witnessed the killing of chickens and hogs and that totally messed up my mind for a few weeks. I know we have to eat but there are some things better left unseen.

Meanwhile, back to Sarah Palin. What in the world was she thinking? This is the person who could have been this country's second-in-command. Those general election creepy feelings I had are actually coming back. Eeew

Those totally grossed out may want to go here: http://www.goveg.com/

Just How Desperate is the GOP?

In an incredible poor sense of timing, poor taste, and just plain ole foolishness, the California GOP has sunk to a new low by filing a complaint with the FEC over Barack Obama's use of his campaign airplane to visit his ailing grandmother in Hawaii.

Give me a break. Is this the best these folks could come up with? The man was trying to see his grandmother before she passed and these numb nuts wanted him to catch a regular airplane. You've got to be kidding. I'm glad he used the most expeditious means of getting to her and was able to see her before she passed.

You may have noticed I've resisted the urge to refer to the GOP as Rethuglicans lately but they definitely deserve it after a shameful move like this.

You know McCain and the GOP are trying to hold on to as many seats as possible throughout the United States but they do that at the risk of tarnishing their personal brand and Party brand for many years to come. It's lame moves like this and selecting Sarah Palin for VP that may appeal to the conservative base but alienates the Rethuglicans from moderate conservatives, independents and conservative democrats.

It's bad enough that these folks seem to have no problems in attracting a mainly non-diverse ethnic group of supporters. This stunt is the lowest of the low. It's time for a change.

Michigan Woman Says No Treats for Obama Supporters

This is very sad but true. A woman from Gross Pointe Farms, MI who is a John McCain supporter, denied treats to children who support Barack Obama.

My God, is this the kind of foolishness we'll have to deal with on November 5th? Regardless of who wins, this country has to keep moving. All signs point to an Obama-Biden victory but that's not what this post is about. How can an adult deny children candy because of politics? Everyone is entitled to their opinion but that's just sick.

How Republicans Shoot Themselves in the Foot

I saw this video over on Dan Gelber’s blog. It is representative of the shiggity the McCain-Palin folks offer as rationale for American voters to support the Republican presidential ticket. It is this strategy that has seen the Republican Party virtually implode. It’s such a shame.

This election is much more about the Republican ticket than it is about McCain-Palin. Republicans in other races are shaking in their boots wondering how the Obama effect influences the down ticket races.

History will record that much of the Republican Party downfall is due to McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin as the vice-presidential candidate. While she energized the Party’s base, for the most part, she was just entertainment.

Barack Obama’s Excellent Adventure

It's almost midnight and I'm watching Senator Barack Obama and President Bill Clinton in Kissimmee, Florida at a rally of I don't know how many people but there are a lot of them. As usual, it's a rainbow coalition and the energy transcends the television screen.

There is no way, unless there is finagling, that McCain-Palin can win this election. Not unless there is foolishness involved, does logic not tell me that Americans overwhelmingly support Obama-Biden. Voters are out in record numbers here in Florida. Polling hours have been extended, young people are voting in numbers never expected, registered Democrats outnumber Republicans and the Obama-Biden Team is campaigning as if they are 20 points behind. They are calling and canvassing neighborhoods to get people to the polls to cast their ballots. Did I mention the team of lawyers who are manning the polls to address any problems that voters may have? This is serious, y'all.

Obama started this evening with that highly anticipated infomercial that was unbelievable. There is no way that anyone with a heart could not have been touched by that presentation of the Obama platform through vignettes on Americans coping with our troubling economy, health care needs, broken promises of funding retirement and improvements needed in education.

I'm not saying that John McCain should throw in the towel but I do sense the continued implosion of his campaign as the November 4th voting date approaches. As McCain continues to try the failed kitchen sink strategy deployed by the Hillary Rodham Clinton campaign during the primary phase, he appears more desperate and less presidential.

We are less than 6 days away from making history. We are not measuring drapes for the White House but we are confident that Americans will do the right thing and vote for change that we all need in America.

Obama and McCain Dance-off

OK, y'all know that this is one funny video. It's so amazing how the candidates heads are placed on the bodies of the dancers.

I do have one question, why no love for Joe Biden? He should have been in the video too!

John McCain’s Rage: Is this for real?

This video was forwarded to me by a friend. I really don't want to believe that it is true. Well, some of the assertions are obvious if one observes Senator Mccain's behavior. The part about back-handing that young woman in the presence of others is hard to believe. I know that he is too impulsive to be POTUS.

No Excuses for Ashley Todd

By now you've heard about the foolishness caused by the false report of an assault on a young, female John McCain supporter. The young lady, a Caucasian, reported that she had been attacked by a black man. Not your average-sized black man but a 6feet 4 inch dark-skinned black man. Now if that's not said to scare the hell out of white women and piss white men off, I don't know what is.

But, in this "post-racial" world that we live in, there will be other incidents such as this. The reality of the aftermath of Ms. Todd's lie is that somewhere in the Philadelphia area where this attack allegedly occurred, black mothers were trying to get their sons home and pray that they were safe from the cops and vigilantes looking for revenge for the victimized Ms. Todd.

Ms. Todd obviously has some psychological issues but she doesn't get a pass for telling a lie and bruising herself. This false accusation crap is old and tired but obviously still effective. How many of you still remember the uproar caused by Susan Smith and Charles Stuart?

While the McCain-Palin campaign doesn't condone such actions by Ms. Todd, they must realize that this is the type of hatred stoked by the flavor of their town hall meetings.

Thankfully, law enforcement doubted Ms. Todd's story from the outset. There could have been a completely different and violent reaction but there wasn't. On the other hand The Drudge Report and Politico.com did but into it and were forced to apologize later.

What happens next with Ashley Todd? I say she needs to be incarcerated for several years and be forced to pay restitution for the cost of law enforcement and other incidentals.

Alaska’s Top Newspaper Endorses Obama

The Anchorage Daily News has endorsed Barack Obama for POTUS. In the opinion of their editorial board, McCain is not the right person to serve as president at this time and neither is their own governor, Sarah Palin.

Alaskans may or may not agree with the editorial board. There are several newspapers that have endorsed Obama. Currently Obama leads in newspaper endorsements 145-55. McCain must be feeling a bit like Hillary Clinton did during the Primary. Obama has consistently outsmarted and out-performed his opponents in spite of their length of time in politics.
